For more than 50 years, Coach Tony G believed that soccer was about far more than wins and losses. It was about building character, inspiring leadership, and teaching young people how to overcome life's challenges with courage and determination. The Tony G Legacy Scholarship will ensure that lesson lives on for generations to come.

The scholarship will be administered through New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS), a respected 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with U.S. Youth Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation. NJYS serves more than 110,000 players, supports over 10,000 coaches, and is powered by thousands of dedicated volunteers across the state. Beyond organizing recreational and travel soccer, NJYS provides Olympic Development Programs, State Cup competitions, coaching education, referee development, and TOPSoccer, an inclusive program for children with special needs.

For years, NJYS has honored outstanding student-athletes through scholarships such as the Frank Bollaci Memorial Scholarship, Allan Sinclair Memorial Scholarship, Brett Fenster Memorial Scholarship, and the Jeanine Willis Scholarship. Each recognizes young people who have distinguished themselves through their love of the game, service to others, academic achievement, officiating, or participation in New Jersey Youth Soccer State Cup competition.

Beginning in 2027, Coach Tony G's impact will become part of that proud tradition.

Each year, two Tony G Legacy Scholarships will be awarded—one to a graduating senior from South Amboy and one to a graduating senior from anywhere in New Jersey. These scholarships will recognize students who embody the qualities Tony valued most: perseverance, leadership, sportsmanship, resilience, and the ability to inspire others while overcoming adversity.

Every donation helps create opportunities for remarkable young people whose actions reflect Coach Tony G's enduring legacy. Together, we can ensure that his passion for developing not just better soccer players, but better people, continues to make a difference for decades to come.
